2023 Annual Communications

VLAWMO's annual communications provide a one-stop-shop to stay up to date our latest projects and programs. They're key documents for ongoing collaboration with local partners, and the Annual Report is provided to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources per State policy.

The Annual Report contains project summaries, grant program activities, workplans, what's on the radar for 2024, and financial information.  View the document summary, the 2023-2024 Watershed-at-a-Glance.

The Annual Water Monitoring Report tells the story of local water through data. While water quality trends are often a long-term pursuit, our monitoring data helps us understand which waterbodies are meeting State water quality standards and which ones aren't. Through the reports we can watch trends in what direction lakes are moving in terms of their ecological health, plus whether waterbodies pose risks for public health concerns such as potentially toxic blue-green algae blooms or bacteria levels. Excess nutrient levels, chloride (salt), and suspended solids (sediment) are all measurements that are tracked and added to the long-term story.  View the 2023 water monitoring summary for a quick run-down of the full report.

We appreciate the Board members, Technical Commission members, municipal partners, Minnesota Water Stewards, volunteers, and cost-share grant participants who all help VLAWMO accomplish its mission!
