2014 Photo Contest

Calling all photographers! VLAWMO is holding its first photo competition, and we need your help!

The Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization (VLAWMO) is seeking pictures of local lakes, parks, wildlife, plants, and outdoor recreation in one of four categories:
1. Nature & Landscapes
 These pictures include landscapes, outdoor scenes, nature images, flowers, sunsets, urban landscapes, lakescapes - to name a few.
These images showcase outdoor beauty.

2. Animals
These contest entries are images of all kinds of animals. They can be pictures of pets playing in water (puddles/lakes/sprinklers/snow), or wildlife birds, reptiles, amphibians, and even insects!

3. People
These are pictures of people in all walks of life - parenting and family, children, cute baby pics, couples and relationships, people engaged in fun outdoor activities, etc.

4. Youth (budding photographers under 18)
These pictures can be of any subject listed in the above categories just taken by kids!

First place winners from each category may choose a $50 Visa® gift card, or rainbarrel! Winners and honorable mentions of the contest will have their photo(s) published in the VLAWMO Photo Calendar. The calendars will be distributed free of charge throughout the Watershed.

Each entry should be submitted with the following information:

a. Photographer’s first and last name
b. Photographer’s e-mail address
c. Title of the photograph
d. The location where photograph was taken
e. Category submitting to (Nature & Landscapes, Animals, People, Youth)


2014 Photo Contest Rules and Submission Information

We would like to see photos of the Watershed's lakes, wetlands, area attractions, nature shots, wildlife, fall colors, hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, and downhill or cross-country skiing. We need photos of all four seasons. Photos from previous years are welcome.

The Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization is located in the northeast Twin Cities Metro Area and includes parts of White Bear Lake, White Bear Twp, North Oaks, Gem Lake, Lino Lakes, and Vadnais Heights. Tamarack Nature Center is also within our boundaries. Our mission is to protect and enhance the water resources within the watershed.
