Venue: White Oaks Lane, Vadnais Heights
Location:   | , Minnesota

The Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization is excited to announce a new water quality effort taking place in your backyard.

On September 23rd, VLAWMO will be partnering with the U of MN and Midwest Floating Island to install a floating island wetland in a stormwater holding pond. A wetland? An Island? Correct—both! Floating Island Wetlands are already helping improve metro water quality in shallow lakes, rivers, and storm ponds.

Because all of the water within VLAWMO drains to Vadnais Lake, helping water quality of small storm ponds also helps the lake. But there’s still much to learn about this innovative new tool. Partnering with Midwest Floating Island, the U of MN will be using the project to research how these islands work in various water bodies.

Stop by this presentation, followed by a Q&A session, or contact VLAWMO for any questions about the event, the island, or how this type of project can be replicated in the future: (651) 204-6070.

Event is free and open to the public - Street parking availalbe on White Oaks Lane in Vadnais Heights. Refreshments provided.
