Lambert Lake
| In 2005, VLAWMO and SPRWS began work on a site located east of County Road F in Vadnais Heights. A 530-foot low-head weir (a small, overflow dam) with adjustable notches was installed and soil was excavated to create a 1.7 acre pond (called Lambert Lake) and distribute water flow from Lambert Creek into a large wetland area. The holding pond allows nutrients in the water to break down more effectively before reaching Vadnais Lake. Initial results have shown a better than expected reduction in phosphorus and in the amount of flow reaching Vadnais Lake. |
