Venue: Vadnais Heights Fire Station Training Room
Cost: $10

Raingardens are becoming more and more popular in today's landscaping. They not only beautify your yard but they also help the environment by capturing the rainwater that would otherwise run off your property and into the storm drain which end up in discharging into our lakes, streams, and wetlands. VLAWMO Program Manager Kristine Jenson will discuss raingarden basics and how to install a raingarden on your property.

Participants will receive a copy of "The Blue Thumb Guide to Raingardens" ($18 value).

Another reason why you should attend these classes and install a raingarden or other environmentally friendly project? Money is available to help you!  VLAWMO has a Landscape Grant Program which will give property owners within the watershed up to $2000 to put in an approved project. Funding is also available for the purchase of rainbarrels. Go to our Landscape Grants  page to learn more. This program is available to property owners within the VLAWMO watershed boundary. A map of the watershed is located on our website Project Map page.

Kristine Jenson is the Program Manager for VLAWMO and is an award winning garden designer with special training in raingardens and shoreline restoration.
