An Integrated Approach to Identifying and Reducing Bacterial Loads to Meet Regulatory Requirements.
In this presentation we will present a method of identifying sources of bacteria (e.g., E. coli) in urbanized watersheds that has proven to be very successful in producing cost effective best management practices to meet regulatory requirements, such as waste load allocations for Total Maximum Daily Loads. Examples of the process will be presented as well as initial results from the Lambert Creek subwatershed, where the process is currently being implemented. To learn more about the project visit the Lambert Creek E. coli Sources page.
